Three suspects were arrested and multiple stolen bikes recovered after a witness reported a theft near the Railyard Dog Park on June 7.
Around 7:50 PM, a witness saw three individuals loading a black E-bike into a green van and leaving quickly.
A photo captured a partial licence plate, helping police identify the vehicle registered in Cranbrook.
Officers contained Highway 3 and located the van near Elko shortly after.
Inside the van, police found three bikes.
One had been reported stolen just minutes earlier.
The suspects, all known to police, have been arrested and released on conditions, including a ban from Fernie unless travelling through or attending court.
The E-bike was returned to its owner the same day.
A second recovered bike has also been returned.
The third, a BMX bike, remains in police custody.
The owner can contact Elk Valley RCMP at 250 425 6233 and cite file 2025 1682.
The investigation is ongoing.
