A young person is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Cranbrook on the night of June 5.
RCMP say officers were called to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and 7th Street South shortly after 10 p.m. for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle.
The individual suffered a head injury and was taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Police say there has since been significant improvement and the person was released to the care of their family.
An investigation determined the person did not stop at a stop sign and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
RCMP say the driver of the vehicle cooperated fully with the investigation and there are no indications of driver fault.
Police are reminding all road users to obey traffic control devices and use all available safety measures to reduce the risk of injury.
RCMP thanked the public for their patience during the extended road closure that followed the collision.
