Cranbrook RCMP are asking the public for information following a disturbing assault on a young child that occurred in the Walmart parking lot on May 26, 2025.
The incident took place at approximately 5:00 p.m. at the Walmart located at 2100 Willowbrook Drive.
According to witnesses, an unidentified adult female left the store accompanied by two young children.
One of the children—a boy estimated to be between 5 and 7 years old—was assaulted by the woman.
Police say the suspect grabbed the boy, punched him, yelled at him, and then struck him in the head with a 4-litre jug of milk.

The suspect was also accompanied by a second child, described as a young girl aged approximately 3–5 years old, with short light-colored hair, wearing a light shirt, light pants, and sandals.
RCMP have been actively investigating but have not yet identified the adult female or the children involved.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
