The Cranbrook Black Wolves Junior B lacrosse team recorded a win and a loss over the weekend in a competitive two-game series against the Kamloops Venom, the top-ranked team in their division.
Cranbrook opened the weekend with a strong showing on Saturday night, defeating the Venom 9–6 in front of their home fans.
The team displayed solid defensive play and capitalized on scoring opportunities to secure the victory.
In Sunday’s rematch, the Black Wolves came up just short, falling 9–8 in a tightly contested matinee.
Despite the loss, the team demonstrated resilience and maintained pressure throughout the game.
“It was a tight game, but we competed hard,” said head coach Russ Sheppard, reflecting on his team’s effort over the weekend.
With the split, the Black Wolves move to 2-7-1 on the season.
The team now prepares for a road trip this coming weekend, with back-to-back games against the Kelowna Kodiaks in Rutland on Saturday and the South Okanagan Flames in Summerland on Sunday.
