The B.C. government wrapped up its spring legislative session with a focus on economic growth, affordability, and health care improvements amid some uncertainty.
Premier David Eby said the province is leveraging its natural resources and clean energy to become Canada’s economic engine, while protecting services some may rely on.
Key measures included eliminating the consumer carbon tax, issuing another ICBC rebate, and freezing basic insurance rates through 2026.
The province also introduced legislation to aiming to speed up major infrastructure and resource projects, and banned mandatory sick notes.
The legislature passed 14 bills May 29.
