Residents in Elkford and surrounding areas now have more access to same-day and urgent care with the opening of the Elkford Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) on May 21.
The centre provides help for non-life-threatening issues like minor injuries, infections, stomach problems, anxiety, and depression, along with services like wound care, sexual health testing, and substance use support.
Patients are triaged by a nurse and connected to the right provider—whether that’s a doctor, nurse, social worker, or physiotherapist.
Located inside the Elkford Health Centre at 212 Alpine Way, the UPCC is open seven days a week and offers both in-person and virtual care.
Appointments can be booked by calling 250-865-2247, or by walking in.
For emergencies, residents should call 911 or go to the Sparwood Health Centre (open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, which is open 24/7.
