Residents now have a mobile hub to stay connected with community affairs in Sparwood.
The District of Sparwood has released a new app to give people better access to local news, events and emergency notifications.
“Council is committed to continuously enhancing the way we communicate to foster a more informed and engaged community,” said Sparwood Mayor David Wilks. “We are also acutely aware of some of the shortfalls of relying on social media for news and this is where the app will provide significant benefits.”
According to a news release on Sunday, May 11, the app is designed to complement the recently updated municipal website– with an easy-to-navigate platform directing users to local updates and information whenever needed.
“Where digital information consumption can become overwhelming, the app will reduce distraction and provide a simple connection to trusted, focused news directly from the source. […] This app is a one-stop shop for access to municipal information and resources.”
You can find the hub by searching “District of Sparwood” on the iOS App Store or Android platforms.
