The City of Cranbrook is urging motorists to plan ahead as crews begin their work on BC Housing’s new shelter project next week.
Local traffic around 2nd Street North is set to be impacted starting on Monday (May 5) as water infrastructure work splits into three phases, as follows:
- May 5 to May 9: 2nd Street North will be closed to traffic between 17th Avenue North and 14th Avenue North
- May 12 to May 16: 16th Avenue North will be closed to traffic between 2nd Street North and 4th Street North
- May 19 to May 21: 2nd Street North will be closed to traffic between 16th Avenue North and 14th Avenue North
“Residents who may be directly impacted by this work will be notified directly by the contractor undertaking this construction,” said the City in a release.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to follow all signs and detours directing local traffic through each stage of the roadwork.
