Cranbrook RCMP shared its policing highlights for the first quarter of 2025 with Cranbrook city council on Monday.

During the presentation, Staff Sergeant Barry Graham spoke about “a series of proactive policing and crime reduction initiatives.”
That included foot patrols in Moir Park, 49 joint patrols with bylaw officers, two crime reduction presentations, and three community patrols by RCMP volunteers, which highlights “a strong commitment to visibility and collaboration within the community,” according to the detachment.
Moving forward, RCMP say they will also begin onboarding two auxiliary officers to support future prevention efforts.
During the first quarter of 2025, Cranbrook RCMP were also involved in a number of significant arrests, including officers safely apprehending a dangerous offender from Alberta, executing a search warrant at a residence, leading to several arrests and the seizure of suspected stolen property and controlled substances.
The detachment’s highlights also showed an increase in traffic enforcement, resulting in 24 violation tickets, seven written traffic warnings, and 38 provincial roadside prohibitions for impaired driving.
Mayor Wayne Price wrapped up the presentation by saying they will work with local RCMP to reduce “nuisance level crime” with a bike patrol and remote surveillance projects planned for “problem areas.”
