After wearing the “C” for St. Lawrence University this past season, former Cranbrook Buck, Drake Burgin has signed a pro contract in the ECHL.
After four seasons in the NCAA with the Saints, the 2000-born defenseman put up 13 goals and 36 helpers, leading him to sign with the Kansas City Mavericks.
Originally from Winnipeg, Burgin was a member of the herd for the 2020-2021 COVID-19 campaign, contributing five points in 20 games; after earning multiple awards in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) in the 19-20 season, including Top Defencemen, most assists by a defencemen (41) and a selection to the league’s First All-Star Team.
Already, Durgin has suited up for the Kansas City Mavericks 10 times, contributing four points.
