The City of Cranbrook says registration is now open for a couple of its 2025 rebate programs, specifically those related to above-ground sprinkler timers, and rain barrels.
One rebate, up to a max of $50 per household for either a programmable timer, or rain barrel, is available on a first come, first served basis, and until program funding runs out.
Applications are only valid for rain barrels or timers purchased after Jan. 1, 2025.
“Programmable sprinkler timers are a great way to simplify watering your lawn and garden. Programmable above-ground sprinkler timers can be set up to water your lawn or garden based on the City’s current water restriction stage. These timers are connected to your outdoor tap and controls the start and stop of water flow to your hose,” the city says in a release.
“Rain barrels are also an excellent way to conserve Cranbrook’s drinking water supply. Rain barrels collect rainwater from buildings and rooftops to be used at later times. This water can be used for outdoor irrigation, reducing the need to use treated water from the tap.”
Mail or drop off your application, with proof of purchase and photo of your equipment, to City Hall at 40 -10th Avenue South during regular business hours, or you can email this information to the city at ap@cranbrook.ca.
This offer is only for owners of existing residential buildings with a valid occupancy permit, property taxes in good standing, located within the municipal boundaries of the city of Cranbrook and connected to the municipal water systems. Those who have received a rain barrel rebate in the past are eligible for a programmable sprinkler timer rebate. Those who received a rain barrel rebate in the past are not eligible for another rain barrel rebate.
