The City of Fernie is making residents aware of ongoing demolition work in the community.
The city says work began Monday, April 14, to disassemble the outdoor rink support structure that currently sits on the aquatics greenspace.
The demolition is expected to take three weeks, as crews remove the building, shipping containers, and clean the site so it’s safe for the public.
During that time, the area will be fenced off, but in a release, the City says, “services to the dirt jumps and volleyball courts will be maintained with underground access and will resume upon project completion.”
The city says updates will be provided as this project progresses, and they thank residents for their patience during this process.
