Those chores include maintaining your lawn and your home’s exterior, having wood piles moved away from your home, cleaning under decks, keeping your gutters bare and assessing your eaves and vents.
FireSmart BC also provided a number of tips to keep your home safe; installing a spark arrestor on your chimney, using fire-resistant siding, doors and windows, and keeping on-site fire tools like axes and sprinklers at your home.
