With less than a month left until the next federal election, campaign season is ramping up for candidates running to represent the Columbia—Kootenay—Southern Rockies riding.
The communities of Kimberley, Fernie, Sparwood and Cranbrook will be hosting All-Candidate Forums starting next week.
Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce is set to host the first among the three cities on April 11 at McKim Middle School. The event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Residents can submit questions through an online survey.
After that weekend, JCI Kootenay will be hosting a forum in Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14. Attendees can speak with the candidates face-to-face, but those who won’t be able to drop by can ask questions via email at forum@jcikootenay.com or on the JCI Kootenay Facebook page by 11:59 a.m. that day.
The Sparwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting on April 16th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Causeway Bay Hotel’s Emerald Room. Questions can be submitted here.
Finally, the City of Fernie will be the candidates’ last stop in the area that week as the Fernie Chamber of Commerce hosts the forum in Park Place Lodge from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. Questions can also be submitted online.
