The RCMP’s BC Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses or dash cam video of a fatal head-on crash that took place on Highway 3, just west of Cranbrook’s Elizabeth Lake.
The collision was between a northbound Honda CRV and southbound Cadillac Escalade and happened a little after 7:30 on the evening of December 26th.
A 64-year-old unidentified passenger from Grand Forks, inside the CRV, died on scene while the driver of the Honda and two passengers in the Escalade were seriously injured.
Police are asking for help from the public to fill in some of the details, particularly leading up to the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under review, as does whether speed or impairment were factors in the incident.
