It’s official!
There will be a third annual Rock the Kootenays in Cranbrook in 2025.
Mayor Wayne Price making the announcement Saturday night ahead of a performance by Canadian band Glass Tiger at the Western Financial Place festival grounds.
This year’s event proving to be another success, with tickets, the mayor said, sold out in advance of opening day Friday, and a large portion, it turns out, bought from those living outside of the city and province.
Mayor Price believes hotels, motels, and other in the accomodations field likely shared in the same success, pointing to the Mount Baker RV Park closed for last year’s Rock the Kootenays, full booked this weekend.
RTK 2024 will wrap up Sunday with performances by Nick Gilder of Sweeney Todd fame (3:30 p.m.), Aldo Nova (5:00), Headpins (6:40) and Nazareth at 8:30.
Next year’s festival is slated for August 8-10.
