Search and rescue crews from the East Kootenay joined RCMP in the search for a missing boater late Friday afternoon.
The unidentified man had reportedly gone into the water after his boat broke loose from the banks of a section of the Kootenay River.
Besides ground crews, RCMP also brought in a drone as an added measure in the search, but at last report, had not made any progress.
“At this time Search and Rescue is still conducting water patrols as well as searching along the shoreline,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron with the Cranbrook RCMP, in a release June 28.
“We are also asking that any possible sightings be directed to the Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471”, adds Forgeron.
RCMP had not provided a description of the missing man or his identity in the release.
