The Province of BC has decided to push back the City of Cranbrook’s planned aerial spray for the spongy moth caterpillar.
It was originally scheduled for today and tomorrow, but conditions simply aren’t ideal.
Rain and winds permitting, the hope is it can now be carried out Thursday and Friday.
The Forests ministry, however, saying the new dates, are also subject to change.
Scheduled spraying would happen between 5am and 7:30am on each of the days and cover about 900 hectares of terrain in the city.
Two more treatments would still be required even if everything goes according to plan this week.
