Spring officially arrives this week, but winter’s got one last dance left before heading into the sunset.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Elk Valley, it says significant snowfall is expected in the region Thursday morning into the evening.
As much as 15 cm accumulation is expected, this after a warm spell which lasted over a week.

A low pressure system, combined with the cold front from the Prairies, will generate a significant amount of snow over the Elk Valley on Thursday. The snow is expected to start on Thursday morning, intensifying throughout the day, and then tapering off in the late evening hours. Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are possible with localized higher amounts near Fernie.
