The City of Cranbrook is looking for an operator to manager the Mount Baker RV Campground for the 2024-25 season.
This after city council agreed on Monday to issue a request for proposal for the campground to operate as a no service campground for short term stays, while approving water system repairs for the site.
Mayor Wayne Price likes the idea, and is hopeful somebody will bite at the opportunity.
The RV park site has been closed since 2021, the City says short stays in this location may allow visitors to choose to stay inside Cranbrook and could provide tourism opportunities.
The goal is for the campground to reopen in the summer if the RFP process is successful.
