We still have a little bit of mileage before we officially put winter in the rear view, but warm weather is prompting an early start for Cranbrook’s spring load restrictions to come into effect on local roads.
Unless otherwise noted, all streets in Cranbrook are limited to 70 per cent legal axle loading, some streets are at 50 per cent on a case by case basis.
The City says this is done to prevent and minimize damage from thawing winter frost, and they are acting proactively to protect local roads.
Those who want updates on provincial load restrictions are advised to sign up for email notifications from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
