How many deer live in Elkford? Urban Wildfire Committee conducts annual count

Elkford’s Urban Wildlife Committee toured the community this week to get a count on urban deer.

The annual count was conducted within the district on Wednesday night.

The count has been ongoing for several years and is common practice in several municipalities.

The goal is to track and monitor deer demographics and trends and to assist the District of Elkford with urban wildlife management actions and plans.
