Fernie Search and Rescue says five people have been brought to safety after being stuck near a logjam Saturday afternoon.
The local SAR team is thanking Fernie Fire & Rescue who were able to get to the area near the Stanford Inn quickly to bring the party of five to safety.
This follows a reminder from the City of Fernie earlier this week to be aware of logjams on the Elk River.
