Stoke Cold Pressed Juice is looking forward to developing their new beverage production facility in Marysville.
Kimberley City Council approved a development permit Monday, July 24 for a ten thousand square foot facility to be built on 316th Avenue.
Stoke Co-owner Alistair Lang says the new facility speaks to the support Stoke has seen in the community for the past five years.
“It started in the back of Centex Market at the time, right now Stoke Market,” Lang says. “It was an idea and a way to use organic produce and has blossomed into a real success story for Kimberley, as one of the few people that were producing and sending things out into the province and into Alberta.”
He feels expanding their operations will be a great benefit to the entire community.
“With this new facility being able to expand and grow, our expectation is that we will need more people,” Lang says. “We hopefully will continue to grow our employment base in Kimberley and if there’s anybody in Cranbrook who’s interested, we’re always looking for good people.”
Lang hopes construction on the new facility will be completed next summer.
Stoke first began operations out of the Centex market five years ago with three full-time workers and now employs 35 people.
He expects to employ more people from the Cranbrook and Kimberley area as Stoke expands its operations.
