A girl seriously injured in the Elk Valley Sunday needed the support of Fernie Search and Rescue and STARS Air Ambulance.
The girl was hurt after falling off of Upper Matheson Falls, suffering some light head trauma and a significant injury to her left leg.
She needed to be longlined out of the area with the help of STARS Air Ambulance.
RCMP and SAR crews are praising a local dirt biker who stopped to help care for the girl and her family until the rescue could take place.
