The Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce is working on a guide to streamline event planning in the region.
The Chamber of Commerce is developing a list of businesses in the region that provide venues for events, along with caterers and other services.
Business Recovery Advisor Theresa Wood says there’s been an increase in people interested in hosting events throughout the Columbia Valley.
“We’re developing a guide to hopefully make it easier for those folks to find appropriate venues and caterers and all the other businesses that will be able to help them with their event while they are here,” Wood says. “.”
Wood says there are numerous uses for a guide like this in Columbia Valley communities.
“We have a lot of great resort properties, as well as community owned venues such as community halls or people that have off-grid really unique venues in the area,” Wood says. “And then as well as caterers and experience providers, anything else that would support events.”
Wood hopes to have all the information gathered together over the next week, with new businesses supporting events to be included as time goes on.
“Planning events in the Columbia Valley, you’d often see posts on social media saying ‘I’m looking for a photographer, who does cakes? who does catering?'” Wood says. “I think having all that information in one spot is really going to help folks out.”
A survey for businesses that want to take part can be found on the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page.
