Kimberley’s Mayor is shedding some light on a proposed development in Marysville that could bring a McDonalds to town.
At a recent Council meeting, Council approved first reading of a zoning change that will see the Marysville Storage land use replaced by a commercial development land use.
The commercial development land use includes a ‘future-proof’ service station with charging terminals and a future automatic car wash, some commercial space for lease and a food services restaurant, currently proposed to be a McDonalds.
Mayor Don McCormick said on social media this is an important investment in the community, with the potential to diversify the city’s tax base and produce dozens of jobs for community youth.
He adds it could generate in excess of $1.5 million in new payroll, which could be spent in local shops and businesses.
McCormick says additional information about this project will be posted in the coming days.
