Amplify East Kootenay – Kal Tire in Sparwood

Amplify East Kootenay is shining a spotlight on local businesses for 2023.

Why have our listeners nominated this business? – “I am nominating Kal Tire Sparwood, especially Sam. He went above and beyond in customer service. He offered to pick my extra part in Cranbrook and bring it to Sparwood, which had nothing to do with my new tires being installed, as well as installed it for me. A huge bonus and savings for me.”

How do listeners feel this business has amplified the community? – “I have had great, friendly customer service from all of their staff. They give back to the community by their service, donations and participation in events.”

Kal Tire has been based in Sparwood since 2002 and is one part of Canada’s largest independent tire dealer, with over 250 retail and commercial stores from British Columbia to Ontario.

Manager Craig Hanzel says they have deep roots in the Elk Valley.

“We always aim to earn the trust of our customers by providing them with a level of quality and value for both our products and our services,” Hanzel says. “We want customers to have peace of mind with every purchase and interaction with our team. We hope this is what will bring people back time and time again.”

Hanzel says they contribute to many community programs, including local sports and not for profits, like the Fernie Ghostriders and Fernie Nordic Racers.

“We also provide local sponsorship and fundraising support,” Hanzel says. “In the past, this has included Angel Flight, which helps community members travel to medical services. Also Elk Valley Safe Homes, that provides service to women, children and families in the community.”
