A candlelight vigil is being held in Cranbrook Friday night, in recognition of the one year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The Knox Presbyterian Church is hosting a Candle for Peace event at 5:30 pm.
Organizers say there will be time for prayer and an open mic for those who wish to talk about their experiences and feelings around the ongoing conflict.
Candles will also be available for residents to light for loved ones lost or still in Ukraine.
Rallies and vigils are planned in cities across the country to “Stand With Ukraine”
The rallies are aimed at pressing Russia to end aggression that has claimed thousands of lives on both sides and reduced entire Ukrainian cities to ruins.
