
Several sports organizations in the East Kootenay are getting support from provincial community gaming grants.
More than $5 million is being split between 201 not-for-profit organizations across the Interior, with 32 of those grants going to groups in local communities.
This includes 11 grants in Cranbrook. 2 in Creston, one in Elkford, one in Fernie, five in Golden, six in Invermere, one in Sparwood and five in Kimberley.
The largest of these grants is $55,400 in funding for the Key City Gymnastics Society in Cranbrook and $60,000 for the Cranbrook Minor Hockey Association.
Nearly $27 million was split between 790 sports organizations provincewide.
