The City of Fernie wants to hear your thoughts on its Skatepark Redevelopment project.
The City has released two preliminary designs showcasing what the amenity could look like.
Director of Parks, Facilities and Recreation Brett Logan says both designs will have accessible pathways and entrances with room for food trucks to set up during events.
“Both options have a bowl, first option has a bigger bowl that translates into less street features in the other areas of the park,” says Logan. “And then the second option is a smaller bowl where there’s a little bit more entry level features for kids and a few more street features as well.”
An online survey has been launched for you to discuss what parts you prefer from either design.
Logan says the workshops attendance was not as strong as a similar one held earlier in the project.
“The first’s turnout we were actually surprised by the amount of people that came, I think there were about 60 people,” he says. “Second workshop I think we were down to about 20. But I think once people realized they can do the online survey they decided to just do the survey instead of show up in person. We’ve had 85 surveys submitted online in that second workshop.”
