Power was out for around 1,600 properties in Kimberley following a late night equipment failure.
BC Hydro says the lights went out starting around 9:00 pm for most of the affected customers.
Kimberley Fire Department says a high voltage line was down near the city core, leading to the outage and a small fire that needed to be actioned by fire crews.
Most properties had power restored by 1:30 am.
