A local environmental group is educating Invermere residents on where their water comes from.
Wildsight is hosting a tour of the District’s water utilities later this month, giving you the chance to meet the utilities team and ask questions about drinking water, sewage and the impacts of climate change.
Program coordinator Lianna Ferguson says the tour is part of Wildsight’s Fire and Ice educational program.
“Waterways is one of our events in that program,” Ferguson says. “We’ll look at the sustainability of our water usage, things that may affect that as far as population growth, pollution and really just the path that our water takes before it get’s to us in the Valley here.”
She says this is the best opportunity to get all your questions answered.
“Participants will have the opportunity to really talk with these folks at the District of Invermere Water Utility Department there,” she says. “And really ask ay many questions that they like and get to see this incredibly complex process of what happens with our water and what it takes to get to us.”
The tour is happening July 26, pre-registration is required.
