The top firefighter for Columbia Valley Rural Fire and Rescue Service says emergency personnel did a good job dealing with a serious motor vehicle incident near Edgewater on Sunday.
Chief Drew Sinclair says the three-vehicle collision happened near Columbia Road and Highway 95 around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.
One person was airlifted to hospital by STARS air ambulance, two others were transported to hospital in Invermere by ground.
“In the event we do have a similar incident in Edgewater again, we’re hoping that the diverted traffic will pay closer attention to posted speed limits within the town of Edgewater,” says Sinclair. “That’s something I’m sure will be addressed following this incident.
Sinclair says these are challenging calls, and all of the responders on scene did an excellent job under difficult circumstances.
RCMP is investigating to determine what caused the collision.
