A new parking payment system goes into place at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and the Rocky Mountain Lodge in Cranbrook today.
Interior Health says the two sites will transition to a pay-by-plate system, which will eliminate the need to keep parking receipts in your vehicles.
A vehicle license plate number is required to use any of the four public parking pay stations.
Free parking will still be available for patients receiving dialysis or cancer treatment and for parents or caregivers staying in the hospital with children overnight.
Volunteers will also still be able to park for free.
