Cranbrook’s Salvation Army is looking for more volunteers for an annual fundraiser.
The Kettle Campaign is happening at three locations this year, you’re invited to donate money to support people in need.
Minister Anne Holden says the campaign is running with half the usual number of volunteers.
“There is a fourth location that we could have it out if we had more volunteers,” Holden says. “As it is, the kettles that we do have don’t have a full schedule. We have them scheduled between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, but we have a lot of blanks still, so there’s a lot of spots available.”
She says funds raised from the campaign support the Salvation Army’s family services and food programs.
“We do 120 school lunches every day, we have 70 meals a day that we serve here at the church,” she says. “We do 75 home delivery meals each week, and we have our Christmas hampers that we are preparing to be giving out in the middle of December.”
You can make donations to the Kettle Campaign at Save-on-Foods, Walmart and Superstore, credit and debit cards are now accepted.
