Why have our listeners nominated this business? – “It is a great spot. Locally owned and operated by kind, hardworking individuals who are involved with and constantly give back to their community.”
How do listeners feel this business has amplified the community? – “By providing an environment for people to safely socialize and connect during difficult times over delicious local food and great craft beer.”
The Heid Out Restaurant and Brewery got its start in Cranbrook as Heidi’s Restaurant, serving as a fine dining establishment for over 14 years.
Owner and Operator Heidi Romich says they made the transition to the Heid Out when they added the Fisher Peak Brewing Company into the mix.
“Its a craft brewery and restaurant, with an appreciation for the Kootenays, the culture of mountain living, Cranbrook roots at its core,” Romich says. “I was born and raised here, had the good fortune of living and working overseas and just so appreciate where we live.”
Romich says they are the only restaurant and craft brewery combo in Cranbrook, putting a range of food on the table from the experience of five Red Seal chefs in the kitchen.
“We make all of our food from scratch and we also have a celiac kitchen, so we can deal with anybody’s dietary needs and allergies,” Romich says. “With the brewery right in house, we can incorporate beer into our food.”
The restaurant has supported many fundraisers and organizations over the years, including the East Kootenay Foundation for Health and the Fisher Peak Performing Artists.
